We fell trees all across the Greater Manchester and High Peak area.
We were called to Edgeley to remove a cedar tree that was leaning dangerously. Edgeley is a suburb of Stockport, Greater Manchester, The houses are characterised largely by Victorian terraced housing and council estates around Alexandra Park.
The homeowner was concerned that the tree might fall onto a neighbours property, and he would be liable for a hefty damages bill.
He did the right thing by calling a tree surgeon to assess the situation rather than trying to tackle the tree himself. We are fully insured to carry out tree work, and also fully qualified, which reduces the likelihood of accidents.
Dismantling The Cedar Tree
The best way to cut down a tree is to dismantle it section by section. This entails an arborist climbing to a high point on the tree with the chainsaw suspended. Then the larger boughs of the tree are gradually cut away. This process continues until all the boughs and larger branches have been removed.
After that the trunk of the tree is then cut into manageable sections and lowered to the ground. This process protects against dangerous falling debris and avoids any possibility of the whole tree falling and causing unforeseen damage to the garden or surrounding properties.
After that, we can remove the larger, thicker part of the trunk from ground level. We simply change chainsaws to one with a larger bar and cut the trunk in slices. Here you can see Chris slicing the Cedar trunk up
Once the tree has been fully removed we can either leave the stump, like you can see in the photo or we can arrange for the stump to be ground out. Stump grinding is carried out by one of our trusted partners.
