We were asked by a customer to Pollard their Rowan tree, in High Lane, Stockport.
The tree was situated in the front garden, near a telephone line.
The customer wanted the tree reduced to the height previously cut to, to clear the phone lines. The tree was pruned and all waste was chipped and taken away.
Pollarding Trees lets light into your Garden
Pollarding trees can sometimes look a little savage. It’s essentially cutting away all the recent growth, so that only the main bows remain. Occasionally as in this case, we allow the tree to keep the original shape. this softens the look of the pollarding as some customers don’t like their trees to be pruned too hard.
Whether a tree is pruned hard or gently, the tree will soon recover and will regrow shoots within a few months.
